Introduction
San Marcos Municipal Code (SMMC) section 2.12.010 provides that if at any time any regular meeting falls on a holiday observed by the City, such regular meeting shall be held on the next business day; however, the City Council may set a regular meeting on a different date should the necessity arise. As the Veterans Day holiday falls on Tuesday, November 11, 2025 this year, staff suggests that the City Council set the first regular City Council meeting in November to occur on Monday, November 10, 2025, at 6:00 p.m.
Discussion
Pursuant to SMMC section 2.12.010, if at any time any regular meeting falls on a holiday observed by the City, such regular meeting shall be held on the next business day; however, the City Council may hold a regular or special meeting on a holiday should the necessity arise. A holiday observed by the City will fall on the first regularly scheduled meeting in November. Staff recommends that the City Council reschedule the first meeting in November to occur on Monday, November 10, 2025 at 6:00 p.m.
