Executive Summary
The Neighborhood Reinvestment Program provides grant funds to non-profit organizations and public agencies for one-time community, social, environmental, education, cultural, or recreational needs. The San Marcos Fire Department requests approval to apply for $75,000 in Neighborhood Reinvestment Program grant funding.
Discussion
The Neighborhood Reinvestment Program Grant will potentially provide funding for the purchase of three (3) deployable shelters, lighting systems, and a climate control unit for the Regional Task Force (RTF). The RTF is a multi-agency team consisting of personnel from the San Marcos Fire Department, Carlsbad Fire Department, CAL FIRE, Escondido Fire Department, Oceanside Fire Department, and Camp Pendleton Fire Department.
The proposed equipment will enhance the RTF's ability to support emergency response operations throughout the State of California. Two (2) larger deployable shelters will provide sleeping accommodation for more than 30 personnel, while the third shelter will serve as a mobile administrative workspace for incident management and support functions.

The equipment will increase the RTF's capacity to effectively support disaster response and recovery efforts while maintaining the health, safety, and effectiveness of deployed personnel.
