Introduction
The increased project load in the Real Property Services Division has created the need to reclassify one of the existing Facilities Maintenance Technician positions to a Lead Facilities Maintenance Technician position.  Per the rules and regulations, all new classifications require City Council approval.

Discussion
A reclassification request was received for a Facilities Maintenance Technician position.  Based upon the analysis, it was concluded that the scope and complexity of the existing job duties has changed significantly and warrants a reclassification to Lead Facilities Maintenance Technician.

Fiscal Impact
The existing Facilities Maintenance Technician position is a grade 611 with a maximum salary range of $60,354. The proposed Lead Facilities Maintenance Technician position will be a grade 613 with a maximum salary range of $67,814.  With the 6% promotional increase and the cost of placing the incumbent on the next available step, the additional annual salary cost will be $5,442.80.  The cost will be absorbed by existing Real Property Services budget for the remainder of this fiscal year.
