Executive Summary
The City received funding through the California State Parks 2024 Parks Bond Act, Specified Grants Program (Project No. SG-37-070) for park improvements included in CIP No. PK013. Construction documents have been prepared for lighting and electrical improvements at Sunset Park, Walnut Grove Park, and Woodland Park. Approval of this resolution will approve the construction documents and authorize staff to advertise the project for competitive bids.

Discussion
The Three Parks Electrical Upgrades Project will replace and upgrade aging lighting infrastructure at Sunset Park, Walnut Grove Park, and Woodland Park. The final design includes replacement of existing parking lot lighting, removal of selected pedestrian lighting, installation of new LED and solar-powered pathway lighting, associated electrical improvements and controls, foundations where required, and restoration of areas disturbed by construction.

The construction documents include electrical, structural, and photometric plans establishing fixture and pole locations, foundation requirements, electrical improvements, and lighting performance. The final bid documents will incorporate applicable City Engineering requirements and California State Parks grant requirements.

Following City Council approval, staff will advertise the project through the City’s competitive public works bidding process. The construction contract will be awarded in accordance with applicable City purchasing authority and grant requirements.
