Executive Summary
City staff has publically solicited and reviewed the request for proposals for a five (5) year landscape maintenance contract for the median groups A, B and C. The contract will provide general landscape maintenance services to medians, parkways, and right-of-ways along major corridors within the City. The maintenance consists of general clean-up, pruning, mowing and minor tree trimming. Staff is seeking council approval to award the contract to the most qualified, responsible and responsive bidder.

Discussion
Through contract maintenance services, the Public Works Department is responsible for the landscape maintenance of medians and parkways along major corridors within the City such as San Marcos Boulevard, Rancho Santa Fe Road, and Mission Road. Various combinations of these medians and parkway areas are grouped together for maintenance oversight and referred to as median groups A, B and C.

On Wednesday, May 23, 2018, staff publically solicited a request for proposals for the project area. The contract term is for a five (5) year period and valued at $147,728 per year with a cumulative cost of $738,640 for the term of the contract, not including extra work activities that may be needed on an as-needed basis to maintain a high level of service to the public.
