Introduction
Pursuant to the City of San Marcos Compensation and Reimbursement Policy (“Policy”), City Council Members may receive reimbursement for, or payment of, expenses incurred while performing official duties. Section D of the Policy describes the types of official duties for which reimbursement or payment is authorized, which have been determined to be in furtherance of a public purpose in accordance with California Code of Regulations§ 18944.1.
Discussion
The following event is presented for a determination that attendance would constitute official duties in furtherance of a public purpose and otherwise meet Policy requirements for City Council approval for distribution of a ticket to:
• Mayor Rebecca Jones and Councilmember Ed Musgrove to attend the 2021 Excellence in North County Economic Development Luncheon
Attendance will support and enhance relations with 501(c)(3) and 501(c)(4) entities in San Diego County, and approval of reimbursement for these functions is presented for the City Council’s consideration.
Fiscal Impact
The fiscal impact to the approved Fiscal Year 2020-21 City Council Travel & Training budget (Fund 100) is:
• $128.93 per ticket for Mayor Rebecca Jones and Councilmember Ed Musgrove to attend the 2021 Excellence in North County Economic Development Luncheon on December 16, 2021.
