Executive Summary
San Diego Gas & Electric (SDG&E) provides SAFE San Diego grant funding to the Burn Institute for subgrants supporting local CERT efforts in San Diego County. The City of San Marcos' CERT program was awarded $3,000 in SAFE San Diego grant funding for 2024.

Discussion
The Burn Institute has awarded the San Marcos CERT program $3,000 for 2024. Funding awarded to the San Marcos CERT program are managed by the San Marcos Fire Department. The grant will be utilized to procure radio equipment, training materials and CERT team supply kits. These resources will help promote resiliency through preparedness, response and recovery.

The San Marcos Fire Department is requesting the City Council adopt a resolution authorizing acceptance of the awarded $3,000 in SAFE San Diego grant funding, and amend the FY 24-25 Operating Budget to appropriate the grant expense and grant revenue.

Fiscal Impact
Approval of the action will result in an increase to FY 24-25 General Fund (Fund 100) expenditure budget and revenue budget of $3,000. Therefore, the associated action would result in no direct cost to the City.
