Introduction
This contract will provide landscape maintenance services in areas within Laurels Country Classics (LLMD), Linda Vista Streetscape (CFD 98-02), Rancho Dorado (F-11), Rancho Santalina (F-39), Arbor Ranch (F-45), and Sierra Madre Academy (F-48).  This includes the maintenance of parks and areas within the public right-of-way including medians, parkways, slopes, and pedestrian / equestrian trails.  Services will include, but are not limited to, mowing, pruning, planting, fertilizing, water management and irrigation systems maintenance, litter removal, pesticide application, and maintenance of fencing.  The contract costs are for base maintenance services only and do not include any extra work associated with repairing damage from vehicle accidents, vandalism, or acts of nature.

For this contract solicitation, six separate CFD / LLMD maintenance areas were grouped for cost effectiveness and management efficiency.

Discussion
A public request for proposals for Landscape Maintenance Services was posted on October 1, 2014.  On October 16, 2014, four (4) bids were submitted to the Public Works Department.  Shasta Landscaping, Inc. has been verified as the lowest responsible bidder for the work whose submission represents the best value to the City.  Therefore, staff recommends awarding the contract to Shasta Landscaping, Inc.
