Introduction
The San Marcos Municipal Code (SMMC) 2.12.020 allows the City Council, at any regular meeting, to cancel the holding of a regularly scheduled meeting of said Council. Pursuant to SMMC 2.12.020, the city council will cancel the July 28, 2020 meeting. The next regularly scheduled city council meeting following the cancelled meeting will be on August 11, 2020 at 6:00 p.m.
Discussion
The City Council may formally cancel meetings pursuant to SMMC 2.12.020 by taking action at a preceding regular meeting and a notice of the cancellation be posted conspicuously by the City Clerk on or near the door of the Council Chambers within twenty-four (24) hours after the meeting ordering the cancellation. In the event that a subject of importance must be acted upon before the next regularly scheduled city council meeting, a special meeting could be called being properly noticed to a specific date and time. The next regularly scheduled city council meeting following the cancelled meeting will be on August 11, 2020 at 6:00 p.m.
